Our center was celebrated National Transgender Day on 15.04.2017 at Madurai SocialScience College with the collaboration of Madurai District Legal Service Authority. Government and Non-government department staff’s and 5 transgender achievers were honored in this program. More than 200 Tg’s and volunteers participated.
Our Center Board Members and volunteers participated in Koovagam Festival. We were distributed Social Protection and awareness materials in this festival. More than 6000 tg’s got aware of social protection schemes available in Tamilnadu government.
Pongal was celebrated in Aaviyur village where community & general public mingled and it paved platform for understanding about the community. The main reason for having this programme in the village is to educate rural people. Nearly 15 TG & Kothi’s participated and interacted with the village people. 300 gathering noticed in the cultural fest, games.
Our organization mobilized fund from local donors for running the center. During this year we received Rs.92964 from various donors. Our Major donors are CSI, RC, and Rotary Club of Madurai.
Idayinam – A Docudrama which is an outcome of five years of research on transgender history in India. It traces back to third century BC and excavates the hidden history of transgenders.
• The heritage and the status of transgender in history are elite and dignified and they play a very important role in court and advisory council.
• This documentation will also reveal the reason behind transgenders degradation in society. This project has a multi-dimensional approach in various fields like history, literature, language, and politics and so on.
